 Sanjay Gandhi Yojana Department

The Sanjay Gandhi Yojana Department at the District Collector’s Office, Akola, is responsible for supervising, guiding, and controlling all matters related to the Sanjay Gandhi Niradhar Yojana at the taluka level in the district. By coordinating with the Tehsil Office, the department ensures that the scheme-related work is carried out efficiently and effectively.

Key Features:

  • Under the Sanjay Gandhi Niradhar Yojana / Shravan Bal Yojana, which is a state-sponsored scheme, an average grant of Rs. 1500 is provided to the beneficiaries.

  • Under the Indira Gandhi Scheme, Rs. 300 is provided by the central government and Rs. 1200 by the state government, making a total benefit of Rs. 1500 for the beneficiaries.

  • Under the National Family Benefit Scheme, a one-time lump sum grant of Rs. 20,000 is given to the beneficiary.

  • The grant is directly transferred to the beneficiaries’ bank accounts through the DBT Portal (Direct Benefit Transfer).

Objectives and Functions

  • As per the Government Resolution No. VISAYO-2018 / PR.KR.62 / VISAYO dated 20th August 2019, issued by the Department of Social Justice and Special Assistance:

  • To ensure that beneficiaries of the Sanjay Gandhi Niradhar Yojana receive the benefits of the scheme.

  • To address and resolve grievance applications of beneficiaries and ensure their satisfaction.

  • To maximize the number of beneficiaries receiving benefits through DBT (Direct Benefit Transfer) and to handle matters related to DBT.

  • To disburse salary grants to officers/employees working at the taluka-level establishments.

  • To correspond with the Ministry and the Commissioner’s Office.

State-Sponsored Schemes

1) Sanjay Gandhi Niradhar Grant Scheme

Eligibility:

  • Beneficiaries below the age of 65 who are not listed in the Below Poverty Line (BPL) list or have annual income less than ₹21,000, are provided financial assistance of ₹1500 per month.

  • Financial assistance is also given to vulnerable individuals such as the blind, disabled, persons suffering from chronic illnesses, widows, deserted women, and Devadasis.

2) Shravanbal State Service State Pension Scheme

Eligibility:

  • Individuals aged 65 and above, not listed in the BPL list, or having annual income less than ₹21,000, are eligible to receive ₹1500 per month as financial assistance.

Centrally Sponsored Schemes

3) Indira Gandhi National Old Age Pension Scheme

Eligibility:

  • Individuals aged 65 and above, whose names are listed in the BPL list, are eligible.

  • Beneficiaries aged 65 to 79 years receive ₹200 per month from the Central Government and ₹1300 from the State Government (total ₹1500).

  • Beneficiaries 80 years and above receive ₹500 from the Central Government and ₹1000 from the State Government (total ₹1500).

4) Indira Gandhi National Widow Pension Scheme

Eligibility:

  • Widows aged 40 to 79 years whose names are listed in the BPL list, receive ₹300 per month from the Central Government and ₹1200 from the State Government (total ₹1500).

5) Indira Gandhi National Disability Pension Scheme

Eligibility:

  • Persons with disabilities aged 18 to 79 years, whose names are listed in the BPL list, are eligible.

  • They receive ₹300 per month from the Central Government and ₹1200 from the State Government (total ₹1500).

 

National Family Benefit Scheme

Eligibility:

  1. The deceased person’s name must be listed in the BPL list.

  2. The deceased must have been in the age group of 18 to 59 years.

  3. The deceased must have been the earning member (male/female) of the family.

  4. Application must be submitted within 3 years from the date of death.

  5. A one-time lump sum financial assistance of ₹20,000 is provided by the Central Government.
