- Preparation of proposals for rationalization of polling stations.
The Election Commission has instructed that a polling station should be provided for not more than 1500 electors. At present there are 1741 polling stations in Akola District .however, with regular increase in electorate, this number is bound to exceed. In view of ever growing strength of electors and various other developments, such as, deterioration in condition of existing buildings, availability of suitable new buildings in the locality, status of basic minimum facilities in polling stations, change in geographical conditions, change in law and order situation etc., the existing polling stations are required to be reviewed from time-to-time.
