Function of Resettlement Department Akola
- Supervision and Coordination:
The Resettlement Branch acts as the central point for rehabilitation efforts, coordinating with various project authorities and ensuring the smooth and timely rehabilitation of affected individuals.
- Monitoring and Rehabilitation:
They monitor the progress of rehabilitation work and ensure that the concerned Collector and authorities are aware of the status of affected persons.
- Preliminary Notifications:
The branch publishes preliminary notifications in the Official Government Gazette, specifying villages or areas likely to be affected or benefited by projects, as per section 11(1) of the relevant Act.
The Resettlement Branch also performs other functions as directed by the State Government from time to time.
The Resettlement Branch is a key part of the Collectorate, headed by the District Collector who is responsible for revenue administration and coordinating all other state government departments within the district.
The District Collector is supported by Additional Collectors and other officers, including a District Resettlement Officer, who supervise the Resettlement Branch.
